Siena Heights University’s Graduate College Special Education program is pleased to offer a cognitive impairment (CI) teaching endorsement by the Michigan Department of Education.

Started in summer 2011, the program offers CI endorsements to graduate teacher education students with initial teacher certification who want to teach students with a cognitive impairment. The CI program was developed by SHU’s Special Education faculty. The program is extremely comprehensive and provides many techniques to those working with persons with disabilities.
