International Student Services
Services offered by the Office of International Student Services include:

  • Pre-departure information
    sent to after admission but before arrival at Siena Heights University.
  • Airport Meet and Greet
    for first arrival at the Detroit International Airport. Siena Heights University offers complimentary (no charge) airport pickup service for new international students who are arriving to Detroit International Airport. Upon acceptance, a "confirmation of arrival" form is mailed to new students. Students who would like to use our airport pickup service must mail this email this form to us as soon as possible to ensure that they will be met at the airport. One of our staff members will meet the students at the baggage claim and drive them directly to the student's place of residence. Click here to sign up for this free service.
  • International orientation
    for new international students that includes meeting and interacting with other new international students and currently enrolled international students; meeting with important campus resource people, and a specialized campus tour for international students.
  • Personal, cross-cultural and academic counseling
    provided by the Coordinator of International Student Services, Siena Heights personal counselor and academic advisors.
  • Periodic Newsletter for International Students
    produced by the Office of International Student Services. International students are encouraged to contribute to this newsletter.
  • Student to Student
    a program that matches first-year international and student mentors. This program, co-sponsored with the Office of Student Activities, offers students the chance to develop a close personal relationship with a seasoned Siena Heights student who assist them in adjusting to Siena Heights, social activities, the city of Adrian and the surrounding area.
  • Immigration counseling
    regulations and procedures overview that helps students take advantage of benefits of their student status, such as internships and practical training.
  • The Office of Residence Life
    offers international students the opportunity to remain in their rooms at no extra charge during breaks and holidays. For all breaks except winter break, the Dining Service offers meal service.
  • Career Development Office
    offers assistance in fine-tuning majors, locating internship opportunities, and practical training.
  • International Club (IC)
    advised by the Coordinator of International Student Services and open to all students who are interested in global awareness and internationalism. ISO sponsors social and educational events designed to promote understanding, respect, collaboration and friendship among international and U.S. students.
  • Programming for International Students
    that includes student trips, community activities and events, shopping trips and a variety of other activities that are designed to augment the international student experience at Siena Heights.
  • Community Resource Database
    that offers a listing of various services, establishments and businesses that welcome and provide service to the University’s international students.
  • Listing of Consulates and Country Resources in the United States
  • Maintenance of International Student Records
