Associate Professor of Accounting

“Having opened my own business, I especially love teaching Management and Small Business Management. It’s great to be able to provide real world examples from my own experiences when discussing business theory. Siena’s business faculty are committed to help their students become ethical business persons, not just knowledgeable ones. I’m proud to be a member of this professional faculty.”

Teaching Philosophy
Teaching at Siena has been a very rewarding career for me. I regularly teach Introduction to Business and Business Communications. Balancing theory and application in the classroom is my practicing methodology. In fact, the Saturday senior-level class, Communication Skills for Managers, uses scenarios that managers face daily. The students become skillful practitioners of writing and speaking incidents through the applied assignments. Videotaping student’s speaking exercises is a valuable tool which I regularly use. Students can immediately review their performance in managerial roles, such as conducting an interview or delivering a formal persuasive proposal. This fosters immediate recognition of their strengths and weaknesses. Through the course, many of my students gain confidence in their communication abilities, which of course is invaluable
