Assistant Professor of Religious Studies
"Religious studies is a discipline that utilizes the reading, writing, and critical thinking skills you expect of a humanities class, but it also requires imagination and empathy to think about a God who is mystery and to relate to the lives of people who have experienced that God.
When teaching a course in religious studies, I don’t want students to just learn about what important figures from history have to say about God. I want students to DO THEOLOGY, or even better, realize they have been asking theological questions all along. There are no heretics in my classroom – only seekers."
