"Cafeteria Clash!" Runs Jan. 30-Feb. 1

World Premiere Play Examines the World of High School
The world premiere of “'Cafeteria Clash!” is scheduled for Jan. 30-Feb. 1 in the Francoeur Theatre on the campus of Siena Heights University.

This new play, conceptualized by Joni Warner and written and directed by SHU faculty member and Creative Stages Director Kerry Graves, will examine the sometimes brutal, sometimes touching world of high school. How do today’s teens deal with bullying, peer pressure, celebrity culture, the onslaught of technology and media messages, consumerism, and academic pressure to succeed? The list goes on, and the kids keep finding their way the best they can.

SHU's Creative Stages Young Actor’s Workshop participants will contribute their thoughts, experiences and words to the creation of this play. Using humor and pathos, headlines and diaries, and imagination and “reality,” this production will take an inside look at how to cope with the daily Cafeteria Clash!

Curtain times are at 7 p.m. Jan. 30 and Jan. 31 and at 2 p.m. Feb. 1. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students.
