Assistant Professor of Philosophy; Program Chair
Patrick Mayer works in Ethics for no other reason than to provide him cover for telling other people how to behave, and works in Philosophy of Mind for no other reason than to give him cover for ignoring what people say about what they think and how they feel. He sometimes works on Climate Ethics because he feels there is too much happiness in the world, and on the ethics of life extension because once life is stripped of excess happiness he would like more of it.
Patrick Mayer teaches Philosophy, plays no musical instruments and is suspicious of pets. He is married to a wonderful woman and has two delightful children. In these ways he surpasses you.
