SHU Trio Named NAIA Scholar-Athletes

Beaubien, Daweritz and Thomas Earn Honor for Saints Softball

Sarah Beaubien, Amber Daweritz and Julie Thomas have been named to the 2007 NAIA Ssarahbeaubien.jpgcholar Athlete softball team.

In order to qualify for this award, student-athletes must be a junior or senior and maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Beaubien is an English major and a junior pitcher from Monroe, Mich. She was also recognized as the Thomas Emmet Award winner given to the top junior male and female student-athlete at Siena Heights.  amberdaweritz.jpg

Daweritz is a social work major and a junior catcher from Manitou Beach, Mich. 

Thomas is an English major and a senior outfielder from Bowling Green, Ohio. 

All three players also were recognized as members of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.

Beaubien and Daweritz become the 14th and 15th softball student-athletes in Siena Heightjuliethomas.jpgs history to earn this accolade, while Thomas becomes only the 6th softball student-athlete to earn this accolade twice.
