Siena Heights University Named to 2018 'Best Colleges for Your Money' List

Siena Heights University made Money Magazine’s “Best Colleges for Your Money” list for 2018. Siena Heights is one of 727 institutions nationally to receive this distinction.

“We are pleased to see that the value of a Siena Heights education is recognized nationally,” said SHU President Sister Peg Albert, OP, PhD. “Siena Heights has always provided quality education for our students, and we will continue to work to make a Siena Heights degree as affordable as possible.”

Money Magazine considered 26 factors in three categories, including quality of education, affordability and outcomes. Siena Heights was ranked 658th overall. Out of 22 Michigan colleges and universities on the Money list, Siena Heights had the lowest average student debt – $17,700. Siena Heights graduates also had a reported early earnings average of $42,500, according to the magazine.

According to the magazine’s methodology, to make its initial cut, a college or university had to have at least 500 students; have sufficient, reliable data to be analyzed, not be in financial distress and have a graduation rate that was at or above the median for its institutional category or have a high “value-added” graduation rate.
