St. Clair County Community College and Siena Heights University signed a 3 plus 1 articulation agreement that allows students to obtain a bachelor’s degree in business while studying at SC4 for the first three years.
A signing ceremony was March 22 at SC4 in Port Huron, Mich., to celebrate the agreement.
The agreement allows students studying accounting, business, management or marketing to complete an associate degree, as well as the first three years – or 87 credit hours – of their bachelor’s degree at SC4, and the final 33 credits at Siena Heights.
That final year can be completed online, at Siena Heights’ main campus in Adrian, or at one of Siena Heights’ degree completion centers located throughout Michigan.
“Siena Heights University is deeply committed to serving students through strategic relationships, like those we have with community colleges, allowing for greater opportunities for both institutions and the students we aim to serve,” said SHU Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies Dr. Chery Betz. “I would like to thank the SC4 community for working diligently to realize your vision of empowering students for success and for allowing Siena to continue its mission and reach the St. Clair County community. Together we will make a difference in the lives of students for years to come.”
“This agreement provides a tremendous opportunity for students at SC4 to obtain a bachelor’s degree from a great university while still experiencing the comfort of being near home and the cost savings at SC4,” SC4 Dean of Occupational Studies Julie Armstrong said. “We are excited to be partnering with such a great institution to benefit students.”
