Youth Symphony Orchestra Begins Sept. 24

More than 40 young and older musicians are part of the Siena Heights University Youth Orchestra, currently under the direction of Jillienne Bowers. This ensemble has performed for audiences for the last 22 years learning challenging and exciting works from the full symphonic orchestra repertory. The Youth Orchestra continues to provide your students an educational outlet while developing artistic growth, intellectual stimulus, and emotional satisfaction. The orchestra is a collaboration of students from Lenawee, Hillsdale and Washtenaw counties. 

WHO: Anyone ranging from the ninth grade to adult age, able to play a musical instrument and read music, may join this group. There are no auditions for this group at the present time.

WHEN: Each semester, the Orchestra meets over the course of two and one-half months, rehearsing on Sunday evenings, to put together a rich program of enjoyable music.

WHERE: We meet in Sage Hall for all our rehearsals.

TIME: The time of the rehearsals are from 5-7:15 p.m. on most Sundays beginning Sept. 24, 2017. 

DATES: The rehearsal dates are as follows: September 24, October 1, 15, 22, 29, November 5, 12, 19, December 3

DRESS REHEARSAL DATE: Dec. 9 in the morning at Adrian High School

PERFORMANCE DATE: 7:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at Adrian High School

SPECIAL FEATURE: Similar to last year, we will be bringing in coaches to help with individual sections of the orchestra which will fine tune and help with difficult passages in the musical literature.

COST: 
The tuition for this ensemble is $50 due in the beginning of the semester which is non-refundable.
