For the second consecutive year, Siena Heights University’s Online Learning Program was ranked as the first in Michigan among all institutions by the U.S. News and World Report.
Siena Heights also was ranked nationally for the fifth consecutive year, and finished tied for 23rd among all public and private institutions. It is SHU’s second straight top 25 national ranking. In fact, Siena Heights was the only Michigan college or university to rank in the top 50 nationally, and is in the top five in the Midwest region.
“To be recognized as the best in Michigan and in the top 25 nationally speaks to the quality of our program,” said SHU President Sister Peg Albert, OP, PhD. “To do it two consecutive years is remarkable. We know our Online Learning Program consistently delivers excellence and is affordable to our students. I would like to congratulate our faculty and staff on this prestigious ranking.”
U.S. News and World Report’s methodology included student engagement, faculty credentials and training, peer reputation and student services and technology to determine the rankings. The publication released its 2018 Best Online Bachelor’s Programs rankings Jan. 9.
"What makes the 2018 U.S. News and World Report ranking special is that this designation represents back-to-back No. 1 rankings as the leading online bachelor’s program in the state of Michigan,” said SHU Dean of the College for Professional Studies Dr. Cheryl Betz. “The 2018 ranking marks a special time in the history of Siena's online programming. It is truly gratifying to be recognized for the hard work and continuous investment in online learning Siena Heights University has made over the past 20-plus years."
Siena Heights has offered online bachelor’s degree completion programs in selected majors since 2004.
