Siena Heights University's Theatre Siena will present the Mel Brooks musical comedy “Young Frankenstein” April 12-14 in the new Spencer Performing Arts Center.
Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced "Fronk-en-steen") inherits his family's estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor (pronounced "Eye-gore"), and a lab assistant, Inga (pronounced normally), Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. "It's alive!" he exclaims as he brings to life a creature to rival his grandfather's. Eventually, of course, the monster escapes and hilarity continuously abounds. The show is directed by SHU Professor of Theater Mark DiPietro.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for seniors and students. Curtain times are at 7:30 p.m. each evening. For general ticket information, call 264-7890 or to purchase tickets online, click here.
