Siena Heights University competes nationally in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
In most sports, the Saints are a member of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, which also includes Aquinas, Concordia, Cornerstone, Davenport, Lawrence Tech, Lourdes, Madonna, Marygrove, Northwestern Ohio, UM-Dearborn and Indiana Tech. However, SHU also belongs to several other sport-related conferences. There are even opportunities for athletic scholarchips and this Michigan college!

The Saints nickname comes from St. Dominic, founder of the Dominican order, and St. Catherine, patroness of the university. Halo the Husky is the official mascot of SHU.
