Substance Abuse Prevention Task Force

Mission
It is the mission of the taskforce to prevent and reduce alcohol and other drug misuse and abuse among the Siena Heights University community by providing education and awareness on substance abuse issues. The taskforce seeks to align itself with the university, in the endeavor to assist people to become more competent, purposeful, and ethical by promoting the health and safety of the campus community.

Goal
The goal of the taskforce is to develop and implement campus wide alcohol and other drug prevention programs that foster academic, social, and personal development and promote campus and community safety at Siena Heights University.

Opportunities/Services Provided

  • Facilitate monthly taskforce meetings focusing on supporting and maintaining a safe and healthy campus environment
  • Provide SHU faculty, staff, and students education and awareness of substance abuse issues
  • Collect and analyze college health data
  • Develop and implement substance free alternative activities and educational programming for the campus community
