Receiving Credit
Your training in the Military may be worth credit. Please submit your DD214 and Military transcripts to the Registrar's Office for evaluation. Transcripts of your military training can be requested from any military branch of service. Please refer to the following listing of appropriate agencies when mailing your request for military transcripts. You may find the "Request for Change of Program or Place of Training" (257k) form in the Forms area.

When requesting your transcripts, you should supply the following information: your full name (maiden if appropriate), Social Security Number, branch of service, active service dates, separation dates, rate or rank, your current address and phone number, your signature, current date, and the address of the Registrar's Office at Siena Heights University.

VA Benefits
New VA Recipients - Montgomery GI bill (Chapter 30, 1606 and 1607) If you have never received benefits before from the VA, you will need to go to the VA Wave Web site and fill in, and submit VA form 22-1990-Application for Education Benefits. Go to https://www.gibill.va.gov/wave/default.cfm

NOTE: Before you submit this form on-line, you should print a copy for your files. The VA Coordinator will need a copy of the signature page for your records at Siena Heights.

Past VA benefit recipients - If you have previously used your educational benefits at another college or university, you must fill out VA form 22.1 995 Request for Change of Program or Place of Training. Contact the Registrar's Office at 51 7-264-7123 for a copy of this form. The form will need to be completed and returned to the Registrar's Office for submission to the appropriate VA processing center. The Registrar's fax number is 517-264-7744.

VOC-REHAB or Chapter 35 recipients: Contact the VA Coordinator at the Registrar's Office directly.

Responsibilities of the student receiving VA Benefits:

  1. Contact the VA Coordinator directly with any questions about benefits.
  2. Fill in all applications and supply copies to the VA Coordinator in a timely fashion.
  3. Inform the VA Coordinator directly of any enrollment changes throughout the semester.
  4. If you are co-enrolled at another college or university, their VA Coordinator must issue a Secondary School letter that they will mail to Siena Heights and in turn the VA Coordinator at Siena Heights will issue a Parent School letter to them. Both schools process an attendance report to the VA.
  5. You must verify attendance information to the VA once a month either by phone at 1-877-823- 2378 or by using the WAVE system at https:/www.gibill.va.govlwave/default.cfm
  6. If the VA benefit that you receive does not cover the bill at Siena Heights you are responsible for payment.
  7. It is the VA that sets payment amounts for enrollment.
