Michigan Severe Weather Awareness Week

During the Month of April the Department of Public Safety & Emergency Management will focus on Tornado Safety:
- This Week (April 6th - 12th) is Michigan Severe Weather Awareness Week. - Learn what you can do to stay safe at a Severe Weather Training on Wednesday, April 9th at Noon in the Rueckert Auditorium
- On Thursday, April 10th at 5:55pm Lenawee County will conduct the annual Tornado Siren test. The sirens will sound for a full two minutes during the test.
- On Monday, April 14th the University will participate in the inaugural America's PrepareAthon, a nationwide campaign to increase emergecny preparedness. At 11am the Department of Public Safety will conduct a test of the SHUAlert mass notification system. During the test all offices and classes in Dominican Hall will participate in a Tornado Drill. We encourage the rest of our community to take a moment to talk about preparedness when you receive the test SHUAlert.
- On Thursday April 24th at 7:00pm the National Weather Service will host a Skywarn Spotter Training program in the Boardroom of the McLaughlin University Center
