Klemm
Gallery
The Klemm Gallery provides a venue for a broad range of art
exhibitions supporting the University's mission and reflecting
the concerns and interests of the faculty and students in the Art
Program. The gallery is named after Sister Jeannine Klemm, former
chair of the Art Program.
Each
Fall semester the gallery schedules three month-long solo or group
exhibitions focusing on themes like Death and Memory or Identity
Politics. Lectures and workshops by artists and scholars support
these exhibitions and provide opportunities for discussion and collaboration
with Siena's diverse faculty and student body. Recent exhibitions
have included work by Judy Chicago, James Luna and Lou Jones. Other
exhibitions have introduced the Siena community to diverse cultural
expression such as Japanese kimonos, Peruvian arpilleras, Australian
fibers, Classical Indian artwork, and contemporary Native American
art. Faculty and Alumni exhibitions are also regularly scheduled
events.
Each
Spring the gallery provides graduating seniors an opportunity to
prepare and mount one-person or group exhibitions of their work.
The
gallery schedule is updated regularly.
