Pre-Physical Therapy

Pre-Physical Therapy

Get involved. SHU may be a smaller institution, however, the university doesn't lack opportunity. Between the numerous clubs/organizations, athletic teams and theatre/art, there are opportunities for all students to get involved at Siena.

  • About: Pre-Physical Therapy

Applicants to schools of medicine, osteopathy, dentistry and veterinary medicine may major in any discipline at the undergraduate level. Since the required courses for admission tend to be heavy in the sciences, most students at Siena Heights aspiring to study for these professions major in biology.

Dr. Carl Kaster (
ckaster@sienaheights.edu) advises pre-professional students. It is recommended that students contact Dr. Kaster as soon as possible to explore specific requirements for their professional goals.

ALSO:
In association with the Gray Institute, the Biology program offers four courses in your junior and senior years to help prepare you for careers in physical therapy.

FAST FACT: SHU biology graduates have a 95% acceptance rate into medical, chiropractic, podiatric, veterinary, and graduate school. Furthermore, the percentage of graduates who go on to earn an advanced degree (M.D., D.O., Ph.D., M.S., D.P.M., D.V.M., etc) is significantly higher than the national average (33% versus 23%).
