Siena Heights Food Drive Sets New Record

The 16th annual Siena Heights Food Drive recently concluded and set a record with 137 boxes of food donated to The Daily Bread.

The weeklong on-campus drive, that includes the Athletic Department’s annual “Hunger Game,” is sponsored each year as a service-learning project in Siena Heights’ social psychology course. According to organizer, SHU Professor of Psychology Dr. Jeffrey Lindstrom, the ideas for and staffing during the food drive are all student-led.

This year’s theme was H.O.P.E., which stood for “Helping Other People Eat.” The donated food was sorted and boxed before taking it to The Daily Bread, where it will help them to serve their patrons throughout the holiday season.
