UPDATE: March 16-2020

For All Siena Heights University Students: The decision has been made to continue classes in a remote format through the rest of the winter semester that ends May 1, 2020.  All previous online classes will continue as usual.

At the present time, the residence halls remain open, however, the University strongly encourages students to go home if possible. If residential students choose to leave campus, further information will be sent out regarding the appropriate check-out procedure.

For those student-athletes affected, coaches do not have any expectation that students stay on campus. Also, as directed by Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, there will be no sit-down dining available, only grab-and-go meals. Here is the dining hall schedule:

  • Breakfast will be available daily from 8-9 a.m.
  • Lunch will be available daily from noon-1 p.m.
  • Dinner will be available daily from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Also, commencement ceremonies scheduled for May 2-3 on the Adrian campus have been postponed at this time. However, students who complete their work will graduate on schedule. More information will be forthcoming on any rescheduling of 2020 commencement exercises.

Finally, the following Adrian campus buildings will be closed by 5 p.m. starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020:

  • Cardio room in the University Center
  • Fieldhouse
  • McLaughlin Health Science Building
  • Old Nursing Building
  • Spencer Athletic Complex
  • Spencer Performing Arts Center

Faculty/Staff: A reminder that all business travel, incoming and outgoing, has been canceled unless your ECA member approves it.

Due to Gov. Whitmer's order, the SHU Library closed Monday, March 16 and will remain closed until March 30. Computers can be found in the Ledwidge Hall lobby area, and more computers will be added there and in on the third floor of Dominican Hall. Students who still have reference questions can email Melissa Sissen at msissen@sienaheights.edu. Inter-library loan and sharing of materials are at a stand still. Students should utilize what they can find in SHU databases and utilize online resources such as Scholar Google for their research and papers.

SHU Career Services will be maintaining all student appointments previously scheduled, as well as future appointments scheduled by phone. Those who would like to schedule an appointment, please click here. Make sure to include your number when scheduling an appointment.
